Amarone della Valpolicella

Type: Red wine

Disciplinare (regulations)

Amarone is made out of dry grapes, left in fruit drying lofts for 100/120 days. During this drying process the grapes sugar content increases. Amarone has one of the highest ageing potential among Italian wines

This wine’s colour is an intense garnet-red and its bouquet has dry fruit, tobacco and spices notes. A high alcohol content and softness result also from the noble moulds that develop during the drying process. Its flavour is markedly fruity and dry, full-bodied, warm and strong. It has a strong personality and can age even more than 20 years.
